The YOUNG Swimmers of Canon Slade recently shone at the Olympic swimming pool in London.
The school’s senior boys – Zach Walmsley, Giles Perst-Briggs, Jake Reynolds, Dan Gregory and Sam Murphy – competed in the English Schools’ National Relay Finals at Stratford Pool.
This is the third time the team has made it to the final, and this year it was one of only two schools that represented the Northwest region, facing top-flight independent schools whose swimmers are regularly chosen. to train with Olympic teams.
They finished 15th in the medley relay and 13th in the free relay.
PE staff Ross Dickinson and Gill Kimblin were proud of the boys.
Mr. Dickinson said: âIt’s an incredible achievement, especially placing 15th in the medley relay and 13th in the free relay.
âWe are extremely proud of the students who have represented the school so impeccably over the years and we wish them well for the future.
