Epson Achieves EcoVadis Platinum Rating for Sustainability for Second Year in a Row

Seiko Epson Corp. received its second consecutive platinum rating for sustainability from the French company EcoVadis. The platinum rating, which was established in 2020, indicates that Epson was ranked in the top 1% of the best companies in the industry. Epson had received a gold rating the previous three years.

The Platinum Rating was awarded in recognition of Epson’s global sustainability initiatives. In the four themes assessed by EcoVadis, Epson received high marks for the environment, sustainable purchasing, labor and human rights, and ethics.

“We have placed the resolution of societal issues, and in particular sustainability, at the heart of Epson’s corporate vision and business strategy. It is a huge honor to receive this Platinum rating for the second year in a row. In addition to setting ambitious goals to achieve our environmental vision of becoming carbon negative and free from groundwater by 2050, we continue to implement measures to ensure good governance and social responsibility across our supply chain, including gaining RBA 2 certification in some of our major manufacturing plants, ”Epson Global President said Yasunori Ogawa.

“Most importantly, however, I think this Platinum rating is a signal to our customers that Epson is a company to be trusted, that it is committed to achieving sustainability, and that it will live up to its responsibility as a corporate citizen, ”he added.
