STAMFORD, Conn., February 15, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — NBC Sports has selected Canon United StatesInc. to supply broadcast lenses for its production of the XXIV Olympic Winter Games, beginning in Beijing, ChinaFebruary 2-20, 2022. The announcement was made today by Adams ChipVice President of Venue Engineering, NBC Olympics, and Kazuto OgawaPresident and CEO of Canon United StatesInc.

NBCUniversal covers the 2022 Winter Olympics from February 2-20with a Winter Olympics record of over 2,800 hours of coverage on NBC, Peacock, United States Network, CNBC, and the NBC Sports app. The opening ceremony was presented on Friday February 4, live in the morning and again in prime time on NBC and Peacock. Similar to the recent Winter Games, NBC’s prime-time Olympic coverage began the day before the opening ceremony on Thursday February 3. Coverage began on Wednesday February 2to United States Network and peacock. NBCUniversal presents its 18and Olympic Games, 12and consecutive overall and sixth consecutive Winter Games, the most by any US media company.

NBC Sports will use a wide range of broadcast lenses, including the UHD-DIGISUPER 90 Long Zoom Field Lens to provide excellent 4K UHD imaging. 4K and HD lenses will be used in the studio and on the sites of beijing, allowing viewers to see NBC Sports’ presentation of all the action in spectacular fashion. In addition, service technicians will be on site in beijing to ensure that every piece of equipment is in perfect working order at all times.
