Panasonic offers some cool makeovers – Cooling Post

UK: Panasonic air conditioning units have been installed in newly opened stores by a well-known high-end cosmetics retailer in two of the UK’s largest shopping malls.

Working with experienced installer based in Kings-Langley, CER Inst, Panasonic have supplied a range of fittings for the stores in Lakeside Retail Park and the Milton Keynes Centre.

Four Panasonic ECOi 3-tube VRF units have been incorporated into the design for 24,000 ft.2 Lakeside store, which had a total capacity of 195kW. ECOi units have been specified with cassettes, ducted fan coils and ERV units and additional features such as off-coil temperature control, Panasonic’s nano X filtration technology and its AC Smart Cloud centralized control.

Another important aspect in the design of the project was the deployment of the Tranquil windsock systems, which are powered by Panasonic PAW 01 recuperator technology which added DX coils for temperature control. This economical fresh air and exhaust solution was installed inside the rear wall and avoided an expensive route to the roof.

The inflatable sock system was dyed in the retailer’s corporate colors to blend in with the store’s color palette. This design was later repeated at the Milton Keynes site.

The Milton Keynes project had different challenges, being for a much larger retail space of 30,000ft2 and in a building from the 1970s. This time three ECOi 2-pipe VRF systems were supplied for the total project capacity of 270 kW.

Like the Lakeside store, the system also included off-reel control, nanoe X technology, and the Panasonic AC Smart Cloud control system.
