With Obi Wan Kenobi will be released soon, many fans are excited to see what new facts will be added to the star wars cannon. However, it’s not just movies and movies that have had an impact on the franchise. Released in 2019, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order saw the return of story-based single-player star wars Games.
From new and now beloved characters to strange alien worlds to even more knowledge about the Jedi Order. taking place between Episodes III and IV, Fallen order has become a fixture for fans of a galaxy far, far away thanks to its many canon inclusions. Not only was it a strong Soulsborne-esque game in the same vein as Ring of Elden but it was a canon entry to the star wars universe, introducing new characters and lore to this expansive world.
ten Force slow
It has been shown that not all Jedi and Sith share the same Force abilities. Some have a natural affinity for rare abilities and Cal Kestis has several. Psychometry allows him to see and hear echoes of the past through the Force. A brand new ability has also been given to Cal in the form of Force Slow.
Instead of freezing beings or objects in place, Cal can use the Force to slow them down tremendously. This can allow him to dodge incoming attacks or sidestep a fast opponent.
9 More lightsaber colors
While star wars may be famous for its flashy Light and Dark Side powers, lightsabers are equally iconic. With the many Star Wars Legends comics and novels no longer in canon, many fan-favorite lightsaber colors have also been removed from canon. That changed with the release of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.
When Cal obtains his Kyber Crystal, the player can choose from a variety of lightsaber blade colors that bond with Cal’s crystal. There are the canon colors of green, blue, purple and light green; however, Fallen Order also provides magenta, orange, yellow, and indigo. Since Fallen Order, these colors have all been featured in The Rise Of Skywalker and High Republic material.
8 A New Type of Fallen Jedi
Fans have seen a Jedi turn to the dark side and become a Sith (as with Count Dooku), but Taron Malicos is different. Emperor Palpatine and the Sith had nothing to do with his corruption; he simply descended to the dark side due to his extended stay on the dark planet of Dathomir.
Malicos proved to be a unique wielder of the dark side who was an enemy of both Jedi and Sith. He was also quite powerful as one of the toughest bosses in Fallen orderneeding the combined forces of Cal Kestis and Nightsister Merrin to defeat him.
7 The last sister of the night
Although Asajj Ventress changed over the years, she was always a darker anti-hero and almost all of the Nightsisters turned out to be twisted Force users. Merrin’s introduction provided a new perspective, one that showed that maybe not all Nightsisters were bad.
Merrin is the last of her kind and she simply wants to avenge her sisters and mothers after they were wiped out during the Clone Wars. She bonds with the Mantis crew and even forms a friendship with Cal Kestis, using the dark magic his predecessors eventually used for good.
6 Explore more Inquisitors
One of the best inclusions that star wars rebels never done was the dark and sinister Sith Inquisitors. Fallen order makes the Inquisitors the primary threat since Cal Kestis is a survivor of the dreaded Purge. Not only did fans get to see a familiar Inquisitor from the comics with the Ninth Sister, but also a new one.
The Second Sister is not only a deadly Inquisitor, but she is the main villain of the game. She is given a rich backstory that is as tragic as it is fascinating, allowing the Inquisitors to be more than lightsaber-wielding thugs for the Empire. .
5 The Origin of Starkiller Base
For the majority, Fallen order sticks to the lore based on the prequel and original trilogy eras. However, the game reveals something about the sequel era that fans of Jedi lore will find both interesting and sad. The planet on which all new youth pass their trials and obtain their Kyber crystals is Ilum.
If the player returns to Ilum after the story, the planet’s settlement plan reveals that it is the one the First Order is turning into a Starkiller base. It makes sense because it’s a massive source of Kyber crystals, but it’s also sad because it’s such a sacred planet for the Jedi.
4 The mysterious Zeffo
Much of Cal’s journey centers on him uncovering the mystery of a powerful race of Force-sensitive beings known as the Zeffo. The journey goes from the Zeffo homeworld of Dathomir to the Wookiee homeworld of Kashyyyk.
Not only is Cal trying to find a hidden Jedi Holocron, he finds out why the Zeffo disappeared from the galaxy. It’s refreshing to see, or in this case, learn about other Force-wielding cultures besides the Jedi. As a bonus, the age of the Zeffo gives vibrations of Star Wars: The Old Republic.
3 Darth Vader’s true power
Fallen order showed that the whole fight between Luke and Darth Vader in The Empire Strikes Back was simply Vader toying with Luke. When Cal Kestis encounters Darth Vader, there is no boss fight with him. The encounter with Vader is simply Cal trying to escape and not be killed by the Dark Lord.
Darth Vader shows how overpowered he is and uses the Force to completely destroy the environment, warping it and doing quick work on Cal. Movie sequences like Revenge of the Sith and A thug were just a taste of what Vader is capable of.
2 BD-1 is the cutest character
Over the course of the game, BD-1 helps Cal on his journey, and the player sees their friendship blossom. Not only is BD-1 an adorable robotic companion, it’s useful; able to slice through anything, provide healing boosts, and project a card for Cal.
BD-1 has become such a beloved character that he may have returned in Boba Fett’s Book. On Tatooine, when Din Djarin builds a new Razor Crest, he receives help from the same model droid that Peli Motto directly calls “BD”. Is this the BD-1 or some other BD model that looks suspiciously similar? Fans will have to wait for that response.
1 Cal Kestis is a perfect hero
Fallen order allowed fans to not only witness, but experience a Padawan’s journey to becoming a Jedi for the first time, as Cal begins as a fallen Padawan and then evolves into a skilled and wise Jedi Knight. The journey is arduous and Cal is not a super-powered superhero of a Jedi.
He is a Force-sensitive being who struggles to relearn his master’s teachings. As a result, he’s a more grounded and relatable character that helps keep the player engaged with Cameron Monaghan, delivering a standout performance in the Star Wars universe. Many are hoping to see Cal make his way into Disney+ movies and shows.
